Rohtang Pass, is a high mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh, India. The photographs were taken during my road trip to Ladakh. It was an amazing experience… One of the best travel experiences of my life till now.

[...] Another Attempt at Macro at Rohtang La pass during my Ladakh Road TripThis one is special as I took it after a scary yet thrilling ride to Rohtang La top. Scary because the weather was overcast and there was a massive traffic jam which are quite frequent (2 hours to be exact) en route. We had started early from Vasisht (Manali) and the scenery and ride was awesome. We reached Marhi after crossing Rani Nala and had an unhurried breakfast at Marhi. From there as we started ascending the pass the road as well as weather condition deteriorated. There was too much mud and due to reckless driving of some people a massive road jam ensued.This photo was taken after the jam cleared and we arrived at the top. It was a mesmerizing sight at the top with clouds beneath us and sky above. There was this green patch where I spotted this yellow flower and couldn’t resist to lie down and get as close as possible to have a macro shot. The Buddhist Chorten in the background really adds to the overall composition. Some more photos of Rohtang Pass. [...]

Stunning photos! Particularly the last one. I HAVE to share it with my girlfriend. We stayed in Manali, clicked pictures, visited different places, but forgot to bring our DSLR to the Rohtang trip.
But these photos really refreshed my Rohtang memories… Thank you.
